Foxwood is a dedicated temple to the Old Gods and a Traditional House of the
Old Religion. Originally founded in 1990 by
Lord Orion, High Priest in Celtic and Alexandrian Traditions and initiate of Welsh
Tradition. The teachings of Foxwood are based on the ancient ways of Prytani Celtic,
Strega, and Faerie Traditions and are collectively transmitted as Celtic/Traditional
Craft or "The Old Religion".
Foxwood is a haven for personal exploration of the esoteric tradition of the Old
Religion as passed on by the Elders of Foxwood.

Classes |

Foxwood provides one year long, two part,
Introduction to the Old Religion class annually. The training is aimed at providing
accurate information on the Old Religion and is not necessarily aimed at
eventual initiation into Foxwood. |

Ongoing classes are provided for the initiate members of Foxwood. |
| |
 |
Foxwood provides a structured training for clergy for those initiate
members aspiring to higher service. These classes are oftento members
of other like traditions and Temples for the training of their clergy. |

Celebrations |

Foxwood, as a registered Temple (religious congregation) offers all
manner of rites-of-passage ceremonies; baby blessings, handfastings
(weddings), semenarche/menarche celebrations & requiems. |

Foxwood provides both Sabbat and Esbat celebrations for members. SomeSabbat celebration are provided for students and friends of the Temple.
These celebrations are rarely held in Circle (temple space) and are
usually larger celebrations incorporating the customs and symbology of the
Tradition. |

Levels of Study |

| |
 |
Student- An individual receiving instruction in the teachings of Foxwood
and may not be a initiate. |
| |
 |
Dedicate- An individual who has studied the initial 8 - 12 month
introductory class of Foxwood' s teachings, attained a initiate guide,
performed the Foxwood "Pilgrimage to the Elements" rites, and
performed the dedication rite. Once these have been accomplished, the
student is recognized as a dedicate and begins the next 6 - 12 months of
classes. |

Initiate- An individual who has undegone the aforementioned training
which lasts not less than a year and a day, but usually lasts 1 1/2 -
2 years, has attained an initiate sponsor, petitioned the Elders for
initiation, performed the necessary rites and received a traditional
initiation into Foxwood Temple. |

Priest(ess)- An individual who has received the 2nd initiation as a
teacher and apprentice to the Elders, recognized as clergy (associate
ordination ) and has taken the oaths of service to the Old Religion,
Foxwood and its students, and the community at large. |

High Priest(ess)- An individual who has received the 3rd initiation at
Foxwood and is recognized as a Elder and guide to all who receive teachings
at/from Foxwood and/or Celtic Traditional Craft. This individual is a
recognized Fully Ordained member of Clergy. As each initiation imparts
responsibility, the third and final initiation is the most committal of service. |
